Primos Truth 35 - Primos Truth Cam 35
If you buy the basic bottom of the line, does that mean that you're not getting much? Typically this is true; unless you are talking about the Primos Truth Cam 35 then you need to think again. For under a hundred bucks you're going to get a lot bang for your "buck".
Yes, it's a camera so what's the big deal? The deal is that you can take pictures or videos when you are not around. You can get a picture with a 1.5 second trigger coming out of sleep mode. When the camera is active, you can get a .3 second trigger. You can also get multiple shots of 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9 images per trigger. The best part is, the critter will typically not know that the camera is there until after it hears the camera.
The Primos Truth Cam 35 will work with a maximum of an 8GB SD card to hold all of your pictures. If you are just taking photos, this 8GB will do just fine but if you set the camera for videos you will lose space real quick. In addition, the Truth Cam 35 has a 35 infrared LED bank so you can take great pictures during the day and at night.
Depending upon where you set the Primos Truth Cam 35 up, the number of photos (>400) will vary upon what is passing by. Day shots are clear and night shots are good too, however, it seems to capture about 30feet (manufacturer says 40) out when the image starts getting too dark to see anything. During a full-moon you can probably see a lot further. You can even set the camera to time/date (temperature and moon phase information too) stamp each photo so you know when and what time the animals are meandering by.
The Primos Truth Cam 35 is so user-friendly that it will work straight out of the box and if you leave the manual (what manual?) at home the camera door has some instructions on it to get you going. The camera has factory set settings which can all be changed to suit your needs. Just don't forget the 4 D batteries. If the camera gets a lot of use, you may want to invest in rechargeable batteries to keep costs down.
Don't just hang the camera on a branch; use the adjustable cable to hold your camera securely on a tree. There is 6 feet of adjustable cable so there shouldn't be any problems. You might want to invest in a security box which will run you under $40. This is an investment because your camera will be protected from the weather, the animals and from theft. The security box works with or without the Python cable. By the way, the security boxes that are now available are made in Wisconsin.
Whether you are after deer, bear, turkeys or Big Foot, the Primos Truth Cam 35 is really a great buy to be used for hunting season or any other time of the year. If you use it to scout for your next hunting trip, don't forget to take your laptop (no work, please) with you so you can plug in the SD card and see what you caught on film; saves you from wondering all the way home what your camera captured while you were gone.
